PM says Poland to get rid of Russian oil, gas fully till year-end

WARSAW, Mar 30 (PRIME) -- Poland will completely get rid of imports of Russian energy sources until the end of 2022, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki told reporters on Wednesday.

“Gas – until the end of the year, oil – until the end of the year… coal – as soon as the law is passed, perhaps, already in April,” he said, adding that Poland “will make every effort to get rid of Russian oil until the end of the year.”

As for coal, Morawiecki added that “there will be a full shift from Russian coal” in April or “May, the latest.”

He also called on the E.U. to impose taxes on Russia-produced hydrocarbons.
